This collarless coat was inspired by the traditional Japanese travel kimono jacket worn over a kimono. The 3/4 sleeve length reveals the wrists, and the generous silhouette for wearing over a kimono is designed to be worn in a modern haori style with dolman sleeves that don't include shoulder lines. The coat is made light and elegant with a reversible tailoring, and the gentle shoulder lines unique to dolman sleeves and the volume when the arms are lowered create a lovely silhouette.
By making the sleeves about three-quarter length, the coat has a voluminous presence but does not feel heavy.
